Commentary on life and everything else. Funny? Sure. Irreverent? Of course. Politically correct? Don't count on it.
Hello to Any Local (DFW) Listeners of Tastes Like Burning,  Do you like Kevin Smith?  Do you like Clerks, Dogma or Jersey Girl?  If you do, and would like to go see An Evening With Kevin Smith LIVE in Dallas on Saturday night at the House Of Blues THIS WEEKEND, then I have 2 tickets with your name on them.  I love you all but they aren't free, however, we will only be charging as much as we actually paid, and not gouging you.  Selling Tickets for prophet is fun for the seller but for the buyer, it's like a kick betwixt the legs.  Email us as soon as you can, for when we get home this evening, we'll have half a mind to put them up on Craigls List, and I'd rather you had the pleasure.  Email me, at tlbshow@gmail.com or tasteslikeburningshow@gmail.com, for details, I will be checking on it all day.

-Tim

I think that just about wraps up reconstruction.  I actually like how it turned out better than it was before (Tim does, too).

Let us know if you see something we missed or if you think we could've done/arranged something better.

Almost done. All we lack is reloading the subscriber service buttons in the "Subscribe!" panel.

Tim will have that ready soon. Or you can email him and tell him to hurry up if he doesn't.

Oh, and I went ahead and updated the look a bit while I was at it.  Tell us what you think in the comments or by email.

You may have noticed things seem, well, different 'round these parts. That's probably because our original, highly customized template somehow got broked and had to be overwritten with a generi-template.

Problem is, I was a bad code monkey and didn't keep a back-up of the HTML code for our custom page.

So, now we rebuild from scratch. The friends of the show links, feed subscription buttons, etc., along with legible font colors, will be returning slowly over the coming days and weeks.

Tastes Like Burning thanks you for your patience as we reconstruct our site.

ATTENTION

Due to illness and a total lack of topics, this week's show has been cancelled.

Now back to your regularly scheduled surfing.

Thank you.

To all our listeners who may be concerned:

Yes, Ike is coming straight for us.

But don't freak out. We'll be fine. The Metroplex is about 600 miles inland, so by the time it gets here, it won't be any worse than the storms we experience regularly in the spring. Actually, this is better because, unlike the spring storms, we actually knew this was coming days in advance, so we've had plenty of time to prepare (which has amounted to moving exactly four lightweight plastic chairs, the outdoor fireplace bowl thingy, the propane grill, and the bird baths).

The worst we'll get is about 4" of rain (not a problem; we're on a hill) and sustained winds of about 30–40 mph, gusting to maybe 50–60 mph (see preparations above).

To our listeners in Houston/Galveston, other areas of S. Texas, and E. Central Texas:

You're in our thoughts and we hope you made/make it through Ike's wrath unscathed.

Thanks to all who've expressed concern for us and look for our special IKE edition of Tastes Like Burning tomorrow night.

Stay crispy (no matter how wet you get)!

Greetings from Tastes Like Burning.

We have experienced some technical difficulties unrelated to the show, but affecting show production, nonetheless.  We will be recording one tonight that explains our weekend trials, tribulations, and trouble, and hope to have it up by tomorrow morning.

Thank you for your patience.

So, yeah . . . we didn't get around to doing a show this weekend.  So if you've been waiting with bated breath for the next one to come down the tubes, you're gonna have to wait longer.

We might try flapping our cheeks to squeeze one out today or tomorrow, but you may have to wait until Saturday or Sunday for the next EXCITING episode of TASTES LIKE BURNING.

Stay crispy!

Hear ye, hear ye . . .

Your friendly Tastes Like Burning webmaster has made a couple of changes and tweaks.

  1. A new banner made with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0.
  2. New category of links in the right-hand pane for the latest StumbleUpon sites we've mentioned on the show.
  3. The link to a complete Archive List at the top of the right-hand pane.
  4. We've also moved the site search bar and "Open links in new window" check box to the top of the pane, as well.

We hope you enjoy the new features.

Stay crispy!
